According to a recent news report, the majority of Americans believe in psychics or some kind of similar phenomena that can’t be explained. It seems that many people have that sentiment. For those such as who believe in psychic powers, it is important to beware of psychic scams. There are many fake psychics who prey on unsuspecting believers and attempt to cheat them out of their money.
Along with the believers, there are of course skeptics. These skeptics abound in print and other media. It is often skeptics who like to take advantage of believers. Those who do believe in psychics should be wary of being scammed by fake imposters. It is these imposters who give fuel to the skeptics and make it difficult for many people to accept that psychics are real. Here are some of the most popular psychic scams:
Many psychics will threaten or scare a client with a curse. Curses aren’t real, but the so-called psychic says they are in order to play on the fear of the client. The psychic performs the scam by making up the curse and then claiming they can cure it for an additional fee.
Once the psychic claims they can remove a curse for a fee, they often tack even more money onto the problem by requiring the client to pay for special prayer cards or candles. Again, this is all part of their scam as they are trying to scare you in order to make as much money as possible.
The Cursed Egg
After some psychics tell you that you have a curse, the ask you to bring in an egg. They then switch the egg without you noticing and when it is cracked you find that the egg has blood or a slug in this. The false psychic will use this to cheat you out of even more money. Some scammers will go on to tell you to carry large amounts of money at all times. At some later reading they will claim the money is cursed and take it from you, pretending to tear it up (when in reality they are keeping it).
The Aggressive Scam
Some fake psychics won’t bother with using trickery to scam you, they just resort to old-fashioned bullying. These fakers often team up with each other and yell at you or taunt you into giving up your money.
It is important to recognize some of these popular psychic scams so you don’t fall prey to them. Always keep a wary mind when going to see a psychic you don’t know. Remember that the job of a true psychic is to help you along your path. Those who tell you things you know can’t be true or who just seem fishy probably are.
